Forklift merchandiser

Anyone know if merchandisers and forklift/merchandiser start at the same rate of pay? They use to be different with merchandiser starting at 12.00 and forklift/merchandisers starting at 15.00 but since they raised the starting pay for merchandiser to 15.00, are forklift/merchandiser starting pay more?

Yes this id definitely sad because they come up with a position to where you are rewarded with a pay increase for having more responsibility, and a year later , if that , they give dang near everyone the same pay increase . Come on sams club something is wrong with this picture. SMH

the ease of driving is not an issue anyone worries about. the issue is the larger responsibility. how so? number one there is a huge safety factor. driving is easy but not only do you drive but are expected to do even more work because " driving makes the job easier". no it does not. it slows you down because not only do you have to stock as much as anyone else you have to get your stuff from the steel and put it back along with everyone elses. And you are expected to do more because id--ts believe driving a lift makes you super man. No one in the building is expected to produce as much as a lift merchandiser except maybe a club pick up person who sprints all day long.

They only done the pay increase for less then a year. Before that lift driving was just voluntary. I’ve been a lift driver for 18 years and it’s much easy then using a pallet jack and lifting stuff from the floor. Also it’s not hard to learn how to drive a lift😉

Right now there is no pay incentive for forklift drivers. There use to be and they took that away. But, supposedly they are bringing that back, which they should. Just not sure when. We need more drivers for sure, but no one wants to do it because it’s added responsibility and skill and no pay increase for those added responsibilities. It use to be deemed as a promotion when you became a certified forklift driver. Not anymore. Maybe someday. Sad.
