Thread regarding Follett layoffs

People don't really believe in hard work anymore?

I don’t like it when people say you only need to work the bare minimum here. Okay, Follett may not be the best company, nor is it ideal, you hear about injustice and illogical moves at every turn... however, I still think it's better to work hard until the day you find another job.
I know a person who also said that she would only work the bare minimum and then afterwards blamed the company for the layoff instead of herself.

Work your tail off and you get same raise everyone else does. Only division that made a profit gets no bonus. Id--tic. The walls are crumbling and BF doesnt have a clue how badly AK is trashing the golden goose.

Can't count the number of associates that gave their heart and soul for Follett only to be rif'ed to make the family stock worth more.

No matter how hard she worked, when the Kmart Sears management team decided her position could be eliminated to make the family stock worth more - bye, bye.

Looks like MLS profession is now board member. After failing Follett and her next company (including a nasty lawsuit) she sits on many boards. Unreal.

You need to give your best effort everyday. You owe that to yourself, your customers, your colleagues and your employer. If you can't give your best, you should find another job. You will be happier. You will be better. It's about no one else than you.
follett isn't a place that deserves your best. It's not good for you to stay.
