Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Boeing Engineering Department is the Worst

In the short time I've worked at Boeing, I have never seen such a useless, sh1t-ho-e department in all my years of aviation.
It's painfully obvious the majority of those "engineers" have actually worked in aviation, only done school work and played on a computer only. How many f'ing revisions does an engineering department need to put out until they actually get it right? The BS going on with Boeing is downright embarrassing, and aggravating because they're utterly mo--nic.
No one should be surprised with the engineering failures with the Starliner capsule, the KC-46 tanker, the 787 and everyone's favorite shi1t show, the 737 MAX.
There's a reason these id--t's aren't working for other aerospace companies.
People are leaving Boeing every week because of having to deal with stupid shi1t like this.
Looking forward to leaving permanently.

The problem is if you are a female or a minority it doesn’t make any difference how bad an engineer you are you will not get laid off.

When the priority is diversity and not the quality of the work these are the results you can expect.

MBAs should be kicked out of the house. Engineers with solid background in technology development should pick up the role.

The whole ODA system is just broken, to make things worse the bean counters have ensured that Boeing becomes just an integrator and let the suppliers do everything!

Remember the Old adage "Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater" . Let’s be honest. We all know that all teams are experiencing reduced staff and skill loss. We all just need to all hang on!

Did any of them ever change the oil in their car or maybe switch out a rack 88and pinion? I didn't think so. Very arrogant bunch of blokes.

I have worked there for 30 years in engineering. It is true, there are a lot of lazy engineers, and there are the many brown nosers. Also, just like anywhere, there are the ones that will throw anybody under the bus just to get credit for something or get a promotion. There is a lot of arrogance and anonymity between engineers themselves. It seamed to get worse with every newer generation as the years went by. Maybe us old guys opinions don’t matter any more. And, there is that cost cutting initiative. I can understand the importance of that, but they also have their consequences and some of those were painful. There are more managers that represent the company more than their people. Though they proclaim communication should be two ways, most of the time it is not.

This is so true. I lasted a year and a half at Boeing before I just took my badge off one day and walked out in frustration. The only time I have ever done this in a 25 year career. Wherever you worked previously, going to Boeing a BIG STEP DOWN in terms of everything about an employer, especially competence. Some of the d-mbest, LAZIEST and most incompetent people I've ever met were at Boeing. The place is a complete joke.

Ha ha , most of the engineers, HR and other non value added position are pretending that they are busy working and solving issues at the comfort of their home😊...useless, how will they solve an issue without them seeing the product and haven’t been in the production for a long time??? So sad for Boeing, they are taking too much advantage on it.

If only too big to fail didnt exist... make or break on performance from top to bottom, sorry unions, you are half the problem, corporate teams- other half. Everyone owns a piece of it.
