Is it foolish to tell your manager you dislike your new position?

I got a promotion (with a lot of added responsibilities) and bumped into the next payband which is great, however, the salary range in the new band had such an overlap with my current band, my pay increase was only 2%. Just yet another way Allstate screws over their employees.

A similar thing happened to me, @1nce+1aLfrm7n. It is very strange for someone to say that they are dissatisfied with the promotion, but I only managed to get more stress and more work. Basically, I was better off in my previous position and I'm interested in how I can return to my previous role.

Promotion math: promotion = more work, more hours, more stress, more problems, a little more money. Final answer = it don’t add up well for YOU

Not foolish while your raise is laughable for the additional responsibility. The one good thing is that it will take you longer to max out your pay in your new band.

I don't think it is foolish. When you tell your manager, mix in some expletives so he/she knows you are serious and can offer guidance.

Learn what you can and then leave for a company that will pay you fairly.

Be honest with your supervisor and tell him /her. They’d rather you stay than quit if you’re in the claims department.

Complaining about a promotion will put you on a fastrack to the layoff list.
