My club has an associate that is a fast worker, though products produced are very messy, and is a favorite of management. This person told management that in order to come in early to help out they would have to let this person stay for regular shift because they wanted overtime pay. Guess who is getting paid overtime while those that do job correctly are told to not go over 40 hours' ever.

Mind your own business and stop obsessing about what someone else is doing. And yes I said obsessing because you're the one who ran to the internet to talk about them whereas they aren't even thinking about you because they're too busy getting overtime.
Maybe you should do the same.
LOl I do my items to spec and am as fast as the other associate, I place orders, do the planning etc. My issue is I am a team player, while the other is an all for me type.

I agree with you. I do the same. The 8-10 hours OT a week is great while it lasts.
Get overtime every week or two. Usually 8 or 9 hours over. Don’t really like working over but as long as they approve the vacation I put in for I’ll work over for them.
I see it all the time but when you get 5 minutes of overtime they call you in the office and give you the 3rd degree.
Maybe you should work on you. Be faster.
sounds reasonable to me.. if they want something from me they need to give something to me, They should have to pay extra for extra or special work.
