Thread regarding Hitachi Vantara layoffs

Those leaving this sinking ship are smart

Why are people surprised that so many are walking away from HV? Both from management and regular employees? You don't need to be too smart to see that there's no future here, at least not if you want a decent job with decent pay and benefits and respectful management that appreciates its employees. HV has been going from bad to worse with no indication of any improvements. If you're surprised that people are leaving that you must have had your head stuck in the sand for the past few years.

It is much easier to fix this company. Shuffle the managers and make them report to a different manager that they have not reported to before. this will breaks the favoritism, buddy system. throw out all the previous performance of the mangers make them earn what they are paid. never keep a manager and his cronies more than 3 years.

It is common for company focusing on cost reduction to be competitive.
The biggest problem in HV is the mid senior management teams hire and promote their good buddies that are clueless as they are Many complains about new position filled by individual without proper interview process.

If the company has been changing top senior executives in the past 6 years, AND there are still many high performance and productive employees walking away from HV, then the problem is in the mid-senior management teams that drive HV from bad to worse with no indication of any improvements !!

It really doesn’t matter if you are an employee that produces money or not, the mode the company is cost reduction. I have seen people take their own exit and others that got the ax but what is interesting is that they were productive folks vital to the success of this company. So what we been hearing from GK and what we been seeing with these maneuvers are very different. The silence from our leaders speaks volumes.
