Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Jumping right into a new job?

In financial terms, it's good, but in every other sense it's not very good. After I got laid off here I immediately started looking and found a new job in record time which I immediately accepted. Thinking only of existential things, I didn’t give myself time to rethink my career path and now I’m in a company that seems to be an even bigger mistake on my part than working at Centene.

Did the author of this topic, who took the job that wasn't working out, actually quit? Or, did it improve enough to stay? That is something I am concerned about as well. I'm still interviewing, but I've had a couple of really off putting ones where I felt I dodged a bullet not getting an offer. Looking for a decent job at an equitable pay rate is proving to be a challenge in Missouri, even for remote positions.

I was laid off! So thankful they did me a huge favor, I hated it anyway. But I said I was going to collect my severance, unemployment, additional unemployment, my cobra being paid by Centene and take some time to figure things out. That’s what I’m doing. I prayed for this honesty. I hope it works out for you, I don’t think you’ll be able to get unemployment if you quit that job.

Yikes! Well, if you haven't been there long, look for another gig and don't bother to put this one on your resume.. Good luck!
