Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Trust is lost

While a good portion of middle managers are beyond hope, some have empathy and will sympathize privately. However, next to none of them will stick their necks out for their people when it counts. Those that do have left or are leaving en masse. It’s duck and cover time for the rest. It’s like watching a slow motion train wreck while the conductors look at each other and shrug, grateful it can’t be pinned on any one of them alone. Acting in the general interest is a memory, authenticity in leadership too. Long live the shareholder. When’s the next big reorg?

Bad bosses are the biggest threat to businesses today, according to Warren Buffett.

He sounded off over the weekend on what he thinks is wrong with corporate culture and how it can take years to get rid of inept leaders.

I’ve abandoned all hope leaders will change or face accountability. Reorgs are shuffling the chairs in the Titanic.
