Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

How many would stay?

If you went to your manager and gave notice and he “requested” that you reconsider and he told you that he would take it to his boss to see what kind of incentives could be offered for you to remain - how many would stay if the incentive was more than adequate? More importantly - what would any of you consider adequate?

The manager has no say in what incentives could be had. HR controls all that. Even if you were to get a new position in the company and wanted to counter their offer financially, the managers have no control. HR decides everything and they aren't going to give incentives and they won't budge on what pay they offer for the positions. Just leave.

No reason to stay.

You were leaving for a reason (or reasons). None of those reasons will have changed.

They'll offer you a pittance now to keep you, but they'll just start looking for your replacement and when they're ready, they'll lay you off without a moment's hesitation, and won't care about how it affects you.

Once you have the chance to move on from a company like Centene, take it (and keep it).

I was told by a wise person years ago, if you give your notice, leave. Never back off if they throw you a bone to get you to stay. If they wanted you that badly, you would already have a better salary or perks.

You have to take the time before you give your notice, once you give your notice you can not take that time. I would go ahead and leave, Centene is headed for distraction, more layoffs are coming, no one is safe! Please do what’s best for you and your family because Centene don’t care nothing about their employees and they will definitely do what’s best for their business!

If I have resigned, I’ve already accepted another job offer somewhere else and have already invested the time and effort into job hunting and going to interviews. Mentally, I’ve already moved on and my hope would be that my manager would go ahead and let me go and pay me for my two weeks notice so I can enjoy some paid time off before starting my new job and recover from the mental and physical stress caused by this poor leadership. I would thank my manager for wanting me to stay, but just like layoffs, me “firing” Centene as my employer is a business decision for myself and my family. Thanks, but no thanks.
