Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Eric Brandt-Esurance

Former Esurance employees, what did you guys think of Eric Brandt

He seems like a nice guy and a straight shooter, from what I have seen, not a snobby arrogant executive type.

Everyone at Esurance loved him. He was someone that was genuine, not snobby, and cared about workers.

He is the kind of guy that if a family member or friend of his was on hard times, he would help them out.

I was one of the highest level Esurance employees eventually let ago. I interacted with Eric on the regular prior and right after the Allstate acquisition of Esurance. Almost immediately after Eric was all bold and brave saying how he would go for to toe and how he would jump into the ring face to face with Tom Wilson and Glenn Shapiro in order to keep his people from being impacted by this purchase. He was all big and bad saying how he didn't sweat Tom and Glenn and how he was going to get things fixed at Allstate. When push came to shove it was all about exciting times and he just stood there knee bent silent as could be as the Esurance workforce was slaughtered all around him. After all that talk he folded like a giveaway umbrella. Had Wilson, Shapiro, and the rest of the Allstate brass heard just a small bit of the big talk and pulling up Eric did he would have been out on his a-s like the rest of us.

Nothing impressive about this guy..was shocked he was handed the job he has...to call him a weasel would an insult to the weasel community...but seems to fit in with all of the condescending jerks running Allstate..

Let's just say that Mr. "Straight shooter" let the mass email of the Allstate taking over the Esurance brand get sent out to all of Esurance (nationwide) without telling the top managers at Esurance that it was coming. It was such a shock that managers in our office were running around with their heads cut off trying to figure out if the email was a hoax or not. Really, for at least a couple hours. It took that long for a top level manager to get a hold of corporate in San Francisco to verify that it was accurate (Allstate was not responding). That was the last straw message of Allstate saying F you Esurance, you don't matter, you don't deserve our respect, thanks but no thanks.

Then we had a office wide meeting with a lot of hand wringing of no one knows anything, so don't bother to ask. We are all vulnerable, don't know what's going to happen, shock, this sucks sort of thing.

THEN, the Allstate virus of "Exciting Times" creeped into the attempting brain washing of management and turned them all into "exciting times" robots about how great everything was going to be even though no one knew what was going to happen while employees were doing the double take look at each other, like, are these the same people in the meeting last week that were worried about their jobs?

He’s a thug. Heartless except to his money. Doesn’t stick up for the little guy. Problem is the whole string of these Chicago thugs is that way. That’s why they are at the top of this sweatshop overseeing it all. The place is a stinky mess and people keep quitting. Nice job Eric. Someday you will realize what you did in the middle of a pandemic to hard working Americans at Allstate. When was the last time Eric worked 12 hours a day talking to customers for months due to decisions he could not control?

Anyone that repeatedly states that mass layoffs are "Exciting Times" is someone that I can certainly do without and that is out of touch with reality.

How about Mr. Brandt be thrown out of his cushy little job with a meager overtaxed severance and COBRA that eats 75% of it up and let's see how "Exciting" he thinks it is

Brandt is a meathead.

Weak, not authentic, and over plan in his use of phrases such as appreciate you and grateful.

This question was asked and answered awhile ago and sounds like the same exact wording as before. Why are you asking it again?
