Thread regarding Riverbed Technology Inc. layoffs

Status Quo

What about the acquisition that is being discussed all over the place? Either it's a rumor to prevent people from running away in droves at the moment, or Riverbed simply doesn't have the money to afford anything at all. And the security story is thin. With visibility only you will not establish yourself as a security player. There are 1000 other players that are light years ahead. You make such a state secret out of it in which direction it should go with security. Team up with other security vendors and become part of a security suite. And finally make NPM cloud-compatible, otherwise the oven will be off soon anyway.

I could go on writing like this for hours. But I don't want to depress anyone.

And dear management and co., stop fanning the flames, you know very well in which direction Riverbed is drifting, namely into insignificance. I can understand your silence and distraction, the paycheck is just too tempting.

Riverbed, a security company?! AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.

They can’t even do security internally, how do they expect to provide it to their customers?

You know the difference between a 1993 Buick LeSabre station wagon and Riverbed Technology

The 1993 station wagon still has a market, someone will buy it because they find value in the vehicle.

The best thing that can happen for Riverbend at this point is some type of merger. I don't believe you're an acquisition Target and I certainly don't believe that the company will pull itself out of the tailspin that you're in! The facts are the facts no one cares about your technology it's all nice to have at this point and you've missed the innovation train.

Back to the LeSabre station wagon, pretty nice vehicle especially if you can find them with the Corvette motors!

the major security vendors have most of the visibility we can offer and they also don't have a problem with cloud, that's the way most customers will likely go. Only the very largest will look at a separate solution, and if it doesn't have equivalent function in cloud and virtual they will pass on us..
