It may have been very easy for someone to make the decision to leave and do so in a few days, but I am still in quite a dilemma. I don't like changes. This company is really a joke, but I still don't want to go through stress and start from the beginning in another company where it will be only slightly better.

Ex-IT employee here and I can say the good days are long gone and not coming back.
They recently got rid of a bunch of people and while some of us deserved it, some of them didn’t but got cut due to association.
Those remaining are high caliber but is in a peculiar situation because leadership doesn’t have a clue how to run IT, yet they keep stepping in and rocking the boat.
Ask me like you're with the right company for that attitude. You're afraid to grow you're afraid to leave and you don't have any aspirations to do anything better. So seems to me like you're a perfect fit for riverbed.
I only say this not to sound like a di-k head but the reality is life is what you make it. If you wake up tomorrow morning and the company has decided to let you go then what? If you don't think if there's anything better than riverbed out there for you I suggest you stay because you're under selling the community as well as yourself.
Your post really says it all you don't feel like there's anything better so you're just going to stay and be miserable. Misery apparently loves company but do you really want to be in the company of misery?
How difficult was the decision to leave?
After the reorg in 2019 I started thinking about it. Half a year after RMB joined, I realized that people started leaving left, right, and center. I didn't want to be the one turning off the lights so I started applying. Eventually I found something else and I would recommend you do the same. I don't expect any package if this hits the wall. Whole EMEA for instance was saved by one(!) huge deal only. That won't happen again.
I didn't leave Rvbd by choice. Fortunately, I landed on my feet and got in at a startup before my severance was used up. It took me a bit to remember how to do work. Then I remembered I actualoly like being busy! The pay went up significantly (and it has for my coworkers who were also let go in that particular rif) and I'm having fun again! Best thing that ever happened to me at Riverbed! Second best was getting an orange screwdriver.
it will be a lot more stressful if the business goes down, or is sold off piecemeal in a fire sale.
Look for something now while you still have a pay check coming in, like lots of us have in the past year
there is lots of opportunity outside Riverbed, go after it while you have the chance. Expect serious competition for the best roles so be ready to treat the first few as practice runs and learning interview questions being asked these days.
I left recently (with no package) and am so glad I did. It is so much better to be working for a company that is growing versus one that is shrinking. You may have gotten comfortable at Riverbed like many others (good work/life balance since there is little accountability) but it is so much more rewarding to work for a growing company (and if you go to a public one you can get RSUs that are real money!).
The sun is setting on Riverbed. If they are still able to compensate you with a package to leave, take it.
