Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Quick wins and not thinking long term?

I had a chuckle over the post in one of the threads below about people in this company looking only at quick wins and ignoring the bigger picture and long term effects. That's right, Oracle has become obsessed with improvements that have immediate benefits, while largely neglecting envisioning and consciously working toward the future. This is not good at all, people used to work here with more enthusiasm and vision.

You people are far too comfortable lazily punching the clock and collecting your paychecks from Oracle, tolerating the BS.

Why not find another job that is more fulfilling with a company that has better employees and leaders?

Nope, you are simply intellectually lazy and prefer to stay lazy and comfy at Oracle and put up with utter mediocrity.

Those of us who actually care about our careers have left and moved on to better paying and far greener pastures.

The more you stay at Oracle, tolerate garbage leadership, and collect your mediocre paychecks, the more of the problem you actually become … or already are.

And you don’t even know it. Sigh.

This is too funny. We had a zoom with our ja----s VP. She’s completely useless and steps on the backs of people who’ve actually done work here. Her top word is revisit. Oh let’s revisit something that has failed miserably time and time again. Let’s revisit something that is useless and does not improve anything. Let’s revisit revisiting.

This sounds like a nightmare. Why do you stick around??

When I see these people and realize they are completely useless I sometimes think “does their family also think the same?”

Absolutely right. It goes throughout the company.
