The way we were told to present the work from home versus hybrid choice to our teams was to imply that chosing hybrid would show a greater commitment and effort in your job. In short they are going to hold chosing work from home against you almost like a penalty. It would not surprise me at all if the work from home would go towards choosing those for layoffs later this year. Our senior leaders were pretty firm in wanting us to inform that the hybrid option is the "appropriate" option and strongly encouraged. Those areas that were told 100% work from home without choice of hybrid are probably not long for this company.

You have the chance to change your choice every year or if a life event comes up. Allstate is trying to dump costly real estate leases and ownerships. First off, your leader has to agree with your choice. It was structured that way for those not meeting metrics and on behavioral UNs. The employee has a voice in their preference, but leaders have final say.
This choice has ZERO impact on retaining or losing your job. If Allstate wants you gone, hybrid or home won't matter.
Sounds like we found the groups facing the most layoffs... If they feel inclined to voluntell you to go hybrid, you're being tested for the upcoming layoff
CLASSIC. As in "All things Ailstate" ... the right hand has absolutely no idea what the left hand is doing.
PRICELESS.
I'm not going to call you a liar, but this doesn't sound right to me. This is not how it we presented to my team and, besides, we're technically still in a pandemic. Some people are just not comfortable with going into an office.
If that's the case, I'm most definitely choosing Work from Home!
Come on severance!!
My manager did not present it that way at all in RMBC.
Not true for my area, at all. WFH is perfectly fine.
Agreed OP. That's pretty much how our heads had us present it also. We were even given corporate talking points in regards to this. Like the hybrid choice would be the "more wise" in terms of your overall Allstate career. Our area was also told to push the hybrid in this way.
This may be your leadership’s interpretation but it isn’t true. Word at the top is to allow choice and empower workers who are already stressed and worried. For those with a choice, managers are not to encourage or discourage one way or the other.
