That is correct. Why do you think they didn't send the trucks to auction when the canned everyone and now there is a big push to get them all new batteries and inspections after sitting so long? Take a look at your reporting center. See all the trucks lined up ready to go? Bingo.
I’m hearing Quantum fiber(lumen)Prem techs in school now. Will be in the load by summer.
They have the typical downtown areas and not even all of that. IOF is biggest footprint. 90% of physical area no fiber at all and no plan to do any. 2.5 billion capital budget last year and 465 million this year for worldwide capital projects. Not placing $h!t
You my friend are out of touch if you think 90 percent of the areas served don't have quantum fiber. Find a National Tech and ask him to see a coverage map of lit areas. I think you will be surprised.
If you are in an area without fiber, then Huston , you have a problem. ANYONE that is not looking for a job should be.
So that being the big plan? What about the 90% of the companies area that has no Quantum fiber?
This is exactly 100 percent correct. The goal is contract as much as they can and hire in a new job title to do the work they don't want the contractors doing. The push is on at Quantum to get all customers converted by August. Failure is not an option.
"Rumor is that they will be hiring under a lower wage technician title for “Quantum Fiber.” It turned out to be to difficult to split the company up and sell the prices so the are splitting it up and keeping under lumen, and are going let let “Centurylink” ie copper die a slow death."
This is replicating the Broadband Title for Network Technician, same work half the maximum pay.

Why do you boys think there is such a push on to move everybody off legacy CTL fiber by August? The end, that's why.
There will be a somewhat medium sized announcement by the end of 2022. Can’t say what it is but just wait. It’s going to happen and you heard it here first Yea. CWA abandons us. No contract in march 2023. No big surprise
I’m on the phone with my financial advisor based upon that spac! Please! They don’t know what they are doing from day to day let alone for 2022! No direction what do ever!

I love how biased this site is. They take down what isn’t pleasing to the companies reputation! Almost as if they are attempting to hide things from people! Typical of this Draconian company where the elite rule! No thanks! Hop off your high horse and speak the truth!
Yep, scum bag jEfF sToReY, only knows how to lay off employees and collect paychecks.
Lumen management would like to thank you for being an essential worker and getting us through the pandemic!! Management got bonuses and you get the walking papers...what a great culture they have created at Lumen!!
Uhhh, we do know the plan and for those of you just getting it figured out....start looking!! The open market on saturated Legacy techs has begun.
94 net techs in Phoenix getting surplused. This will be announced tomorrow morning
AZ is getting screwed tomorrow. layoffs coming, be prepared
We don't know the plan yet. But automation is inevitable, and it is better than a sinking ship.
I need to correct this.
"Also-Lumen doesn't want any legacy CenturyLink technicians either, whether in the field or in the various centers"
Lumen doesn't want any employees period, want everything Automated so they can sit and make Videos and play Golf and collect a paycheck and Bonus. Problem is were a few decades away from slave Robot labor doing everything, but they are trying like hell to get there.

You have finally caught on to the "Master Plan"....great investigating and thanks for letting us know!
