Interesting nothing in the east or mid-atlantic yet. We expected the axe here in Ohio and PA yesterday.

321 net techs AFTER the surplus? Sounds like there's plenty of fat still left to cut. Join the rest of the company and start making do with a shoestring crew. The days of USW blowing the budget on Denver and Phoenix and sticking it to the rest of the company are over.

How many broadband/network techs will Phoenix have after this cut?

This is so disappointing! Tenure no longer matters. We're in Phoenix and I guess we are going to start looking for transfers out of here or into new companies. :/

8 cdts in Greeley/Ft Collins. Clocks pushed back for weeks and techs from other garages are sent to help cover the work. Probably the same story in other areas.

They may not care but the government does. There are laws requiring them to have good batteries in place. If we all call in they will be fined heavily! The pocket book is what hurts them most!! Call in!

As a CO Tech, I can tell you more remotes have dead batteries than good ones. And yes, they are well aware and refuse to spend the money on replacing them. The last criteria we heard was, unless it fed a government agency, state police, state senators office or hospital, they don't care. That may have changed because we just gave up complaining and just let the customers down.

It’s time to start ratting these a–holes out! They don’t care about any of us! I know for a fact they are not replacing any batteries in any remotes! Some batteries are more than 18 years old. These remotes are supposed to stay up for at least 4 hours during AC power fail. Call the PUC and FCC and start squealing folks. Anyone notice how much Story made last year?
