Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

I wonder why attrition is not higher

With so many unhappy people working here, you'd think attrition would be higher than it has been for the past several years. Evenso, I'm not seeing any changes or upticks. This is truly a pity, because I'd love for a mass exodus event to happen and leave the leadership scrambling to find people to do the work when it comes to a screeching halt. That's the only way I can see them realizing that employees are actually an asset and not a costly hinderance.

We want to leave but where will we go during a pandemic? No other jobs out there so Allstate has us by the nads and they know it too. Kids, mortgages , car payments etc. need to be paid .

Working from home, benefits, and pto are the reason people are staying. No one is staying for the job itself anymore.

We're in the middle of a pandemic. Allstate knows the job market is c-ap, and therefore knows that most people won't and/or can't leave as there's not much else out there. They won't feel any pressure to change the way they treat the employees in the short term.

I mean my unit has lost two people in the last 12 days and a third just put in their notice. I feel like they are scrambling to get people in here. We are going to be a unit of all newbies soon.

A mass exodus would be advantageous for Allstate. Not having to fire a bunch of people, pay severance or pay unemployment.

Sure, it would cause a short term headache, but they'd ramp up the shift to India earlier than expected and maybe get a bigger bonus because they cut costs ahead of schedule.
