I currently work with 10+ engineers in a company outside of DXC and their skillsets are 10 times better than the cannon fodder dud "engineers" at DXC that can't even produce good quality IT system designs. I have never seen so many inept "engineers" at DXC and through no fault of their own, they are unable to advance in their profession due to insane limitations on travel and training budgets. If DXC engineers were tasked to build a working boat within 6 months then they would be hamstrung by silly arguments over PPMC resourcing and WBSE assignments which need many fools to sign–off on basic approvals. Notice to the "engineers" stuck at DXC – get out into the real world and learn that the grass is greener on the other side. Perhaps DXC employees could engineer a WFR? That would be a great outcome!

There are a few well experienced technical people left. Ones who really know their specialist subjects.
Not many thanks to a combination of deliberately creating a hostile environment for any senior engineering people and active wfr.
Lawrie believed all of the little people were all equal and why pay for expensive ones when you could get cheaper people to do exactly the same job.
Shame it didn't seem to apply to him or his gang of lackeys. I'm sure we could have found some cheaper people just as bad at the job.
I beg to differ, I am a good engineer and so are some others I know in the US. But the real question is how to you all define 1st an engineer and 2nd a good one.
US engineer/architects have limits put on them by corporate, so dont blame what I call an engineer . Most US engineers know how to do problem determination without following a well documented script, unlike most (not all) of our counterparts in so called lower cost locations
IT Engineers are high-level IT personnel who design, install, and maintain a company's computer systems. They are responsible for testing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking systems to meet the needs of the employer. IT Engineers may also be required to train staff and manage projects.
I believe they are all in India :)
The question is the wrong way round.
No good engineer will ever join DXC
No the goods one either left on their own or who WFR by terrible CEO Lawrie and continuing under same pattern by Sal
There AREN’T any good engineers at DXC. And there never were. Any engineer worth more than a milk cow works for a real company. DXC attracts and hires dregs who just follow ‘the plan’ and do what they are told. No engineering skill required (nor wanted).
I don't know what it's like in the UK but look at the clients DXCtechnology has in the United States they are all c-ap legacy EDS IT outsourcing accounts.. do they have Airbnb do they have wework do they have Tesla do they have apple do they have any modern client? What about the big Microsoft partnership what a joke is that almost no new revenue from Microsoft
First how do define an Engineer and 2nd how do you define a good one?
And if there are, why in the world are you still here?
