Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

For whom is Intel still a good company?

Some here are defending Intel, as if it is still a very good company. I certainly agree that some people exaggerate, but Intel is far from the company it was when I started working here and its reputation is significantly worse - for a reason.
I wonder who are these people who claim that Intel is still great and who don’t face a lot of problems here? Who feels that this is still a great company?

It is a great company for incompetent employees, especially spouses and friends of managers who can enjoy a decent salary for doing absolutely nothing.
This is the only company who can pay an engineers salary to someone for reporting status in different meetings, in different colors

It was weird that you had to play with the team on projects but be rewarded singly, and secretly in R&R. It was a pain to get all to agree. Also bad to have lots of responsibility but zero power. Right?

the standards are different
some sites has unlimited free fruits, take it from cafe whenever you want and as many as you like
some cheap sites limit to 1 fruit/day for each employee

Intel is definitely a good company
whether you have relatives or cousin that help you to grow fat
haha
if you are sideline, maybe you will say it is toxic environment
let say you have everything going smoothly, what are you complaining?
not enough free fruits?

May he Rest In Peace. Having said that, PSO had a combination of Intel OG arrogance and some very big blind spots (iPhone with Intel Inside, anyone?). GPTW events will never replace a company that is firing on all cylinders and conquering new territory.

It is a good company for the relatives and cousins of the current management.

PSO. God bless his soul! Multiple GPTW events when he was CEO.

It's good for people to schedule meetings and go through the motions, but not actually execute on the final 10% that is 80% of the real work.

GPTW ended when BK started as CEO. Paul O may have made bad technical decisions, but Intel was still GPTW under him.

No complaints here. I've worked elsewhere before coming to Intel, and prefer Intel. Like anywhere else, it's highly team and organization dependent. And like anywhere else, I could be gone tomorrow if some exec gets a nice bonus for cutting expenses, and my job happens to be one of those expenses. If that happens, I'll just find another company and move on with my life. I won't be a saltlord that is constantly posting on an anonymous employee forum 5 years later about how much I dislike my former employer...

Intel still a good company to work, provided you know how to survive
and if you are ambitious, either you are the minority to come clean and stay alive politically
or most likely you are the s—ers that curse the toxic env

I hate to beat the dead horse here, but the organization is key. I’ve spoken with people who want to work at Intel; they already have heard that they should be weary of jobs in certain locations in the US if they don’t want to be run to the ground before I mention it. There are people who changed organizations before leaving the company and are very happy.
