I hear corporate is going to occupy the top two floors of the building, if so that’s going to s— big time for the poor booksellers who already have to deal with enough c-ap. Probably best to avoid applying here in the future, anyone ever work at this location if so what was it like

Moving the corporate office to a store...that’s a big change from the fancy corporate office on 5th Ave. ask yourselves why they would need to do that? A desperate move to cut costs is my guess. This will be a slow death for B&N.. moves like this and stores closed quietly at lease end ..will take years and will be painful for the store employees. Just look at other chains that went private and are slowly closing locations. The death of a retail company under private equity is painful. Working for a company that is only focused on cutting costs to increase the value of the company is hell.
I’ve worked at union square, busy location was furloughed and didn’t come back, place went down hill after they laid off the leads nothing left but managers and part timers. Place was not terrible except for a few unprofessional d–k bag managers who should have long ago been fired. Those of you who post on here about this store and are upset I say to you don’t worry corporate is moving into this location and I doubt they will tolerate any shenanigans from the managers, low performers and abusers will get exposed and tossed out. Have a nephew who worked at waterstones in London when we was studying abroad very different culture they don’t mess around.
Closing one in Kingston NY next week.

I doubt it will be union square they are doing decent business all things considered.
