Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Why are people returning?

I can understand people who never before worked at Intel deciding to join the company since they have no idea what's really happening here. However, seeing people who left or (even worse) were laid off return boggles my mind. I always consider people who got out the lucky ones and then they return for more of this abuse? Did they enjoy the toxic work environment and nonstop layoffs?

You are putting too much emotional energy into this. It's a job and business. Nobody chains you to your desk. You owe them nothing more than what you get out of it and they can get rid of you at any time. Once you make peace with that life gets a lot better. It's how corporate america works.

Employees will agree 100M get me a break even Elon sold his house and take small pay. Pat definitely the only one benefit from 100M+
He will get more and higher bonus and serverea pack
Intel is making him rich while leaving all the poor engineers poorer than him
Just come back here again how much he get next year 200M+

Many reasons for returning: (1) They enjoyed themselves, (2) their current recollection of how it was is better than how it really was, (3) they think they can seamlessly drop back in after 5 years, (4) they are able to land in a spot where they will be protected from future RIFs, (5) their current job s—s even more.

Perhaps one ISP victim will take a one week vacation from their current job, return to Intel, and then quit Intel after one week so they can exit on their terms and go back to their new job! Now that would be pretty cool!

Money money money, Pat has a dream, sadly it is a fantasy this IDM 2.0 is a wet dream.

People still go to Boeing, GE, IBM, and Intel to that list, soon nobody will care

Intel was and still is a great company to work for. For those who had a bad time it's on them. If they aren't smart enough to position themselves in a good position once again it's on them. I assume most of the people who post here were either let go or left and have nothing better to do than complain about Intel. I did 27 years there and it was great.

I hope you realize that the 100M is not cash and will not fall on his lap with him sitting on his a–, right? He'll have to bust his a– to earn it. And if the foundry business becomes viable and INTC market cap doubles or more, hey, 100M is peanuts. Then there is a case to argue he should be paid even more.

never listen to Pat.
Pat still getting paid over $100 million no CEO pay that much. In the end only he can benefit

You just don’t get it, do you? People are returning because they know how things used to be and Pat has given them, and others hope. It was once truly a GPTW. Maybe it can be again. Take your rotten attitude elsewhere.

Perhaps because as cra—y as intel is, you can get by for years with only delivering excuses while waiting for the project to be canceled? Some people are okay with that while it’s the only option for others.
