Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

How do you manage to overcome the situation and stay calm?

There is too much work, too much stress, work/ life balance does not exist, pay is humiliating for the amount of work to be done, the customers are angry and dissatisfied, etc., you get the point.
What I am interested to know is how do you deal with this awful situation and still keep your cool enough not to quit your job in the affect, at least not until you manage to find a new and more solid job? What is your technique for coping with the stress and just making it through another day?

I went out on short term leave, found another job while on leave. Came back and quit a day later. Best decision ever. Pay cut, but less stress..

Utilize your pto
Apply for STD because of the emotional/mental hell you’re in (like people wanting to drink to get through the work day). Get paid 100% of your pay for the first month or so of STD, and the. 60% after that. Should balance out how much you save on alcohol from not trying to drink the pain away to compensate for the difference in your income. Use the time to recover from Stockholm syndrome, then either return to Allstate and work until it’s time to repeat the process again, or quit and go to a job you enjoy more.

Well the fact we get to work from home means some drinky drink during the work day to take the edge off. We all discuss our c—tails of choice. Heck if Tommy can tie one on during town halls we can too.

Very easy. Many of us quit caring after last year's layoffs. We saw good friends and co-workers needlessly thrown out like trash and no consideration or care for us knowing they were going to shove double and triple the work at us. From there on many of us just quit caring, do the minimum and nothing more, and just wait for the next round of layoffs. Our manager doesn't care anymore neither so they don't bug and coach us. Just do the bare minimum and don't put any stress on yourself. This circus isn't worth it at all.

No secret to it all. Sleep a few hours a night , drink after work, go running , try to fight the urge to blame yourself for all the pending and long hours staring at a computer screen for 12 hours a day and weekends and tell yourself this isn’t your fault . We’re in this situation because of poor management decisions at the highest levels. Need more adjusters plain and simple . Not enough adjusters to do Virtual assist calls and supplements.

I cope by submitting job applications elsewhere every single day on my lunch break. Finally got an interview, wish me luck.
