I applied and accepted a Centene case management job last week. They have several positions posted and are adding more on a regular basis. Are they laying off the nurses or are they laying off other staff members? Now I'm not sure I should've accepted the job.

What about program coordinators, care coordinators, service coordinators?
It seems like quite a few support staff, managers were laid off in February in the Tampa region. It seem like the case managers are okay for now especially with the ongoing new members assigned monthly.
If you look at the number of members per employees at centene compared to its’ competitors, centene still seems to be over staffed. Anthem and United Health Group have about 510 members per each employee and CNC has around 210 members per employee. CNC’s average salary is 25k per employee and the competitors are 20k higher in the average. Unless Centene is planning a colossal acquisition, there’s still a lot more fat to trim...
"Worried", I understand that in this market it's 'any port in a storm'. But as you will see, there's nothing secure about Centene. Keep your job search active but under the radar, learn what you can, tick off no one, and leverage it to something better. Be prepared for other rounds of layoffs.
Talk about rubbing salt in the wound! Why would you post here that you’re taking our job, replacing us? Insensitive much?
One word - RUN. You don’t want to work for this company. Take it for now but start looking for something else.
I would suspect any new jobs posted are at a lower pay grade than what the people laid off who were making.
Operations will be taking a big hit according to some posters on here
Trust NO ONE.... job performance apparently did not matter at all with the February lay offs, working overtime voluntarily, getting along well with others, getting good yearly reviews, meeting productivity and getting 100’s consistently on audits did not matter....so it’s anyone’s guess as to their rationale. Be prepared for terrible and abusive management. Wish you best of luck....
A lot of Corporate positions and the subsidiaries as well. I know this from HR.
Everyone. Keep your resume updated. Either way, congrats on at least having income in these tough times.
I'd say to just continue looking cause you really never know. Smh...
