Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

No layoffs, why so sure?

I love it when others respond to some rumor about cuts with the belief that there is no chance of there being layoffs anytime soon. Is Dell such a stable company that it gives such a sense of security to someone to confirm that there are no layoffs on the horizon?
I’m just wondering why people are so sure there won’t be any layoffs anytime soon?

not exactly - unless it's a structural change like buying or selling a business unit, or k–ling a product line, mass layoffs tend to be limited to mid year and January/February.

That said, any layoffs of a handful of people here or there are fair game year round depending on monthly/quarterly budget adjustments.
