Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Raises

I love that Allstate’s idea of a raise is 2.30%, that’s not even enough to keep up with cost of living.

Especially if ‘expected’ level in all business goals.

What happens if you don’t sign off on the performance review in talentconnection because you don’t agree?

As an individual that always received expectant or BTE, I just don’t care anymore.

Got 1% for inconsistent. Rating was a joke and leaders couldn’t even rationalize how they came to that conclusion based on goals.

I was told by different leaders in different areas that the BTE and expected have little to do with money and raises as much as it is used to promote people to higher positions in higher pay bands.

Front line and others below manager level can expect a permanent 0-4% range regardless of rating with a rare 5+% for those teacher pet types or those related to someone in management.

Allstate burning out good employees

If you were rated BTE with no raise, then I’d seriously do the minimum to get by.
I’m sorry to hear that. That is a huge slap in the face.

I was rated BTE. Top performer on my team. Hit every goal. Merit raise 0%..........I transfered to a new team the start of this year and old manager thinks it's a mistake. My new manager can't understand it. Yet so far no resolution....motivation just dropped. No point of working had with 0 payoff....

I want to know who the competitor paying more was.

Union is the answer.

They would rather pay a dividend vs giving actual raises above the cost of living rate.

You could be unemployed.....in Texas....with a flooded home...No electricity....living in a motel room with 3 kids and 3 dogs....eating from a vending machine. I'd say you are pretty damn fortunate.

And they wonder why we can’t keep our talent... just had my best employee leave for a competitor. Half the claim load and a 30% pay increase...

I got that same spiel.

3% here and I got the spiel from my manager that after what happened in 2020 it would be best to accept and be gracious.

They showed me yesterday how they felt with my raise.. it’s disheartening to bust your butt to not have it pay off. I feel unappreciated

3% for BTE here. Disgusting. They will never get BTE work out of this high performer again. You blew it Big Blue. From here on out it is just enough to not to be hassled or fired. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to hit the lay off list and severance this year. Pick me Glenn! Bring on the assessment! I s— at Tetris!

While unhappy with most things related to Allstate, in the corporate world, this is aligned corporately with many other large insurers.

Hired 1996 5-8% was commonplace for many years in the beginning of my career. Worked hard, stayed late, back when this was a great place to work. No one cared if they worked hard and put in extra hours you were treated like a human being. This job used to be a career with retirement at the end of the rainbow. What a sad path to destruction corporate greed has transformed this company into.
PS- trickle down economics has never worked, it is another myth thought up by rich elitists to enrich themselves and keep the working class in near poverty.

Unfortunately your TOTAL COMPENSATION includes but is not exclusive of your salary. Health care and other benefits considered in total employee compensation by an employee are significantly outstripping inflation eating a larger slice of your total compensation pie.

In America, we are the only country with insurance paid for by the employer, a relic of WWII salary freezes. There is a political party out there that fights federalized health care which could reduce the health care costs from between 33 and 50 percent (from 19% of GDP to 13%) as in other first world countries across the globe.

So next time you hear attacks on "socialized" medicine, look at your miniscule raise and understand it is because in America we insist on "free market health care" that is much more expensive per capita than EVERY OTHER NATION on the planet. We are the only wealthy nation that treats health care as a privilege for the the highest bidder and not as a basic human right.

Because raises for you and I means less money for Tom and Glenn. That is about all there is to it. Tom and Glenn come first ahead of the other 40,000+ employees. Even though 95% of us provide more worth to this company than those two jackholes they come first.

You would think that if the shareholders and board of directors were serious in this "Transformative Growth" philosophy and not just using the term as a corporate cop out to screw over the employees and customers they would send them packing. $25 million+ a year off the books in just two incompetent nitwits.

Times are tough for Allstate. They made billions last year but still need to bear out geico and progressive so more jobs will be sent overseas .

I've been capped for three years. It's like getting a salary reduction every year. My income stays the same but everything costs more. If an employee gets a meets expectations rating, they should get at least a cost of living increase.

Esurance transfer here. I’m 20k over my range max and expect to be adjusted downward this year. Transformative Growth in action!

The Allstate salary ranges are ridiculously low and not based on industry averages, unless you factor in offshore wages (India). Most insurance companies recognize geographic differences/costs of labor and factor those in as well......not Allstate!

I’ll do what it takes to stay out of trouble but no more than that.

If 2.3% is what they are offering that is pathetic. Especially if we are doing double duty in are new roles now. Time to polish up my resume.
