I wish I had left here much earlier when the first rumors surfaced about troubles in this company. Honestly, I thought people were exaggerating and at the time I could not believe that Allstate was laying off good employees. I doubted what people were saying and I started working more than ever. And then I got... laid off. Now I can see that all my efforts to ensure that I was not laid off were in vain, but now it is too late. I still haven’t found a new job and I regret it because I might have been able to find it if I had looked for it early on while I was in this company.

Please do not confuse and mistake "trusting" for "believing". You should have believed the possibility that was being said by many through many channels but in my 16 years with this company I trust NO ONE within Allstate. Not my co-workers, not my manager, and certainly not the brainwashed self serving scumbags from division manager on up to Tom Wilson and Glenn Shapiro's cushy penthouse Chicago offices. Hell I didn't trust the nice lady that mopped the jons at the office. However when there were so many people saying the same things regarding the layoffs and the SHTF with this company you were a fool not to believe. Especially when DM's, directors, Tom and Glenn said the opposite. All those people would lie to your face for a nickel.
I truly hope you find a job soon. It is tough out there, for sure.
Unemployment and severance are the only options in this pandemic economy right now . They’re working everyone to death currently because they know the job market is bleak . Twice the workload .
Yes you should have listened. Many didn’t but it’s understandable. I knew something was about to happen early on because I was a part of the massive exodus out of California. Ppl also talk. I told several ppl be prepared for things to go down with layoffs and office closures and no one believed me.
