Who will support the coffee shops now that the exploration group is going to be decimated? It’s tough finding oil when you are sipping lattes for seven hours a day discussing how ‘busy’ you are. I guess that’s why COP has to consistently go out and buy companies to replace its reserves.

Critical thinking? Trust me I have sat in on some of those coffee conversations and they are so far in the weeds it’s not funny. The people with lowly BS degrees developed the shale concept that our PhD wanna be profs still can’t figure out. The people with lowly BS degrees at Concho and L48 are going to take over your jobs because they understand how the oil patch works and have drilled wells.
Good riddance to Piled High and Deeps, perhaps they can get jobs back in academia slinging coffee at the library, they sure do know about that field (coffee that is).
thecoffeelady- I can't tell if you're trying to be serious or sarcastic. No matter, you made me laugh either way.
Thank you.
Say the losers that barely got a BS degree and got lucky finding an oil job....about the group full of Ph.D.s who actually understand critical thinking and socialize new ideas during these coffee breaks. I guess it is a hard concept when you barely have any advanced education. You might be so proud about your little BS degree that landed you a job in IT/supply chain/L48_____.
Statistically speaking, COP should have accidentally hit oil by now, beverly hillbillies style.
Eliminate the coffee shops and the smoking areas. Problem solved.
You all seem to know a lot about 'explorers' in the coffee shop - what are you doing there all the time? or is stalking GGREs your actual job?
Okay, you guys need to lighten up on the explorers. I'm actually impressed they could even find the coffee shop.
So much truth in this post, could add in the technology group also!
The original poster complaining about people having coffee for an hour each day, is one of the smoker buddies taking a 15 minute smoke break every hour.
get laid off and die in a gutter
Man somebodies panties are in a bunch today lol
it is very hard work cracking knees for the United Way Taskforce. Do you have any idea how many people feel they are being exploited. I try to convince them they won't see a pay raise if they don't contribute. If you are not socially responsible, the company isn't interested.
and what is it you do: endlessly sit in make work meeting? tweak spreadsheets all day? write enormously important policy documents? come up with mission c-ap like 'we power civilization'? perhaps you 'work' on D and I? or are part of a United Way Taskforce? maybe you dream up facility solutions using as yet untested and not even designed hardware? do you work the 'help' desk? schedule the endless reboots? or support our lovable SAP systems? and as you clearly are hi pot - perhaps you are destined for the amazing heights of CoP Leadership - Go and add some value yourself and stop b–ching about others.
