This Stankey and HR call is the worst and most blatantly anti-employee call I have ever been on in my 22+ years.

"the market data showed that we were way better than others on vacation time, and below others on holidays".
this total b*sht from stinky. there are numerous companies that have unlimitted vacations. Look at Netflix for example....
Don’t let the door hit you all in the a– on your way out. Maybe this will be a good thing and stop all the complaining about benefit changes.
"If any of you rule of 75 don’t take the hint and leave then you only have yourself to blame."
To blame for what? Making damn good money for not too much heavy lifting? I mean sure, the culture and leadership is horrible and all, but I stopped caring about that quite some time ago. I am staying precisely because they want me to leave so bad. Because, F 'em. I have other options for pre 65 healthcare. You want me gone so bad, you'll have to do it the old fashioned way.
If your business plan s—s and you cant attract new talent blame everyone around you and push them out the door. This is what we get from the smartest man in the room? OMG with leadership like this it seems that AT&T is going the way of AOL, Hostess, Enron and Eastern airlines. Hold on to your wallets boys and girls....
Wow! I hope a little karma will prevail.
I think Stinkey offered great wisdom on this call. Take it or leave it. So I’ll be leaving thank you. If any of you rule of 75 don’t take the hint and leave then you only have yourself to blame. The writing is all over the wall and there’s a big neon sign that says hit the road. I’ll be leaving ASAP.
"I'm really sick of this notion that everyone who has been here for 20+ years is useless."
You're right, it's just the ones that have been here for 30+ years that are useless. Haha just kidding.
I am a 26 year employee that also keeps my skills sharp, and am a high performer. My team of engineers has a few newer hires, less than 10 years, and I dance circles around them. However, I look at them and see the greenness and realize I was there too. You see, there are definitely those that are hanging their hat on tenure and have not improved themselves, but Mr Stankey wants to paint everyone with that broad brush.
My favorite part was when they were sharing the excuses of why they took the vacation days away, something to the effect of "the market data showed that we were way better than others on vacation time, and below others on holidays".
I know there are companies out there that take pride in being a cut above the rest when it comes to benefits or perks, but not this one. The second we find out we are doing more than we have to for our employees, you better believe that we will fix that!
What an absolute fuching joke this company and its leadership are.
How sadistic do you have to be to take health subsidy from most at risk employees of your company away during a once a century pandemic and make it hard for them and their spouse to get health insurance before Medicare? You can't make this s*** up.
Couldn't agree more with the poster who said that no organization is going to give up a headcount for someone's personal advance. And that's what Stinkey claims someone with tenure now has to do to prove your worth. Good luck finding that new job that doesn't exist. And don't count on any bonus if you aren't in the right organization either. Doing your job and causing no issues won't get you one. You have to fix someone else's mess-up. Then they think you are valuable.
I'm glad I skipped it. I honestly can't take anymore of his "I'm so much smarter than all of you" attitude. The guy is a complete jag off. I delete everything with his name on it because I can't even stand looking at him. The guy who sends a Christmas email urging employees to leave. What a piece of work.
This company is in trouble. I don't see anything good coming of Stankey leadership. I hope I'm wrong!
"long time workers are not entitled to benefits just by being with T for a long time but new hires are." J Stinkey
His yelling tone was awful. He hasn’t changed his “if you don’t like then leave” attitude since he was the lead over IT so don’t see much hope for any sudden self awareness there. He tries to keep himself contained and hide his inner jerkiness on these calls, but it always shines through in the end. We aren’t supposed to work for benefits and money to support our families, we should work because it is rewarding in and of itself and not worry about $. Get a life.
They sure did a fantastic job of skating around the question of why Veteran's Day was not included in the paid holiday scheme.
“Someone really needs to post the meeting!”
The non-employee trolls are salivating...
"Focus more on the things you can control - skillsets, change, stay or leave..."
I'm really sick of this notion that everyone who has been here for 20+ years is useless. I am a high performing technical employee who has continually and still continues to learn new technology...because I enjoy it and I understand the need to keep up with the pace of technology. I actually enjoy what I do here and I am being forced to decide between retiree benefits and my employment here.
I understand the enormous cost to this company for healthcare but I am sick of them picking and choosing when to use the "market average" explanation. What benefits/compensation are the C-suite giving up for the longevity of this company????
When is the replay? I completely missed this event and would love to see the real Stank in a non pre-recorded environment.
While these changes are unfortunate for many, probably most... and several major mis-steps in recent years by leadership have certainly contributed to our current situation, I agree with most of the rationale around benefits changes.
If you are fully dependent on AT&T or the government to make your life better, you are in a bad place.
Focus more on the things you can control - skillsets, change, stay or leave...
Or feel entitled - even though many of you have been riding the gravy train - delivering much less value than your compensation warrants - for years.
Stank's right, company can change benefits at any time, these are not contractual commitments to employees or retirees. The argument to cut benefits to stay competitive in the capital market place is laughable. Read any of the analyst rags, do they blast T for having a over blown benefits commitments and therefore the stock price is dragged down, hell no! They blast Stank and company for pissing off and loosing a ton customers year over year!
This Stankey character is awful. He, along with current management will run this company into the ground.
Then will sell the profitable segments, take huge bonuses, and walk away. Good luck keeping qualified, engaged, intelligent employees. What a dope!
Just sent application to T-Mobile - it's time to leave....
Someone really needs to post the meeting!
It is unbelievable that they say you can get exceed performance rating, and get no merit raise if you are at top of new salary range. He pretty much says if you don't like it, too bad and leave. Replacing that person will cost the company so much more than give couple percents of merit raise a year. Unbelievable how short sighted they are.
They are trying to shift the accountability to employees to train up and find work to add value. This is dead on arrival, orgs are setup to keep you exactly where you are. Managers are not incentivized to move you into challenging roles in other teams. No team is willing to give up headcount for the sake of an employee's development.
Take away my earned vacation days so he can ensure his bonus - greedy b*stard!!
Didn’t think Stanky could get more arrogant than Randall. But he is shining.
What a nasty personality!!!
Stankey makes way above market avg for Fortune 100 companies....I guess all this market data b—s— doesn't count when it hits his wallet.
Are there any other sites besides this one that talks to the Company inequities?
Oh my god, this guy is the worst. Seems we've gone downhill from Randall, if that was possible. Zero empathy whatsoever - clearly does not care one bit about loyal employees. He's being a total d–k.
Did you catch “we are doing away with differences” including what benefits people have. If they have pensions or not have pensions. Interpretation: we are going to do away with pensions.
Looks like the diversity thing was all virtue signaling after all... Typical.
The volume of catch phrases and buzz words on this call is truly embarrassing. I really wish that these 3 had the courage to just say it as it is in clear language.
So what are the benefits for those who retire after this year?
This call is basically we don’t care about you. Stay or go. Take it or leave it. You are not worth what we pay you.
You people don't understand the dynamics.
i wish someone could leak annonymus clips of this to utube, but i know nothing is annonymous, not even this site
I've been at the same level for more than a decade, the TSR range has changed only once, not shifting according to the market place as claimed. For those who are close to 120% mark, don't hold your breathe.
I thought it was just me. All the canned responses that basically amount to we don't care how long you've given your time and energy to this company, we don't want long term employees. This call just further cements my decision to retire in 60 days.
