Since I haven’t found any other option so far and since I don’t have much savings, I would like to not get laid off. Although it is clear to me that the dismissals were given irrationally and that no one is safe, I can’t just give up and wait for them to lay me off. Because of my situation, that would be very irresponsible. Are you and in what ways are you trying to avoid the layoff?

Try to pay attention. Depending on which area you are in your work may be moving to another system or potentially vendors. If you hear that, you should see the writing on the wall
I feel same way. How do they expect us to work feeling like this? My upper Management is not helping the situation, my duties are supposed to be shared with my Wellcare counterpart but unfortunately I'm feeling like I'm out of the loop in pending work at this time. So I feel like it's only a few months or weeks away for me.
Start looking now. That way you can likely be more prepared with a plan B (or even a plan A+, meaning a plan that is even better)
I'm not sure how one avoids being laid off.
No Avoiding it, best to do now is to just save and take as much money as you can and embrace for impact.
