Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford is recalling 1,666 2021 Bronco Sport models over improperly attached rear suspension parts.

Non-IT people (if there are any on here) - Please get your sheet together. This can not continue - loose/missing suspension bolts? Really? Who is watching this stuff? Whatever happened to DFMEA and PFMEA? Is everyone looking at their phones instead of the bolts?

Still trying to get that stock above $12. This is not helping.

Have you noticed the headlines lately?? The USA is on its way to becoming a 3rd world nation. What will you do to stop it.....? That’s what I thought... until the middle class takes to the streets nothing will change. We as a republic need to be part of the process.... read the Bill of rights and the us constitution. If bad things can happen to others it can happen to YOU!!!

Too many on the assembly line using their cell phones to care about building quality. Hey don’t worry joe has our backs.

I have over 8 years experience as a quality engineer. The plants have the most of the quality issues. We have tip toe around the UAW children. Don't offend!!! U Ain't Working. Ford is very lucky to have a stock price above $10. Ford Warranty Spend is massive. The Explorer LOL!!! Toyota is # 1 Forever.

The non automotive comments were placed because they reflect the current status that major corporations are in today. Human Resources care more about diversity than talent and seniority of American citizen employees. That is inherently wrong ... it should be the immigrant that should be schooled on offending American citizens instead of the other way around.

Wow - that guy seems pretty bitter.

Sounds like he designs his parts, never visits the plant to help launch the vehicle, and says it is someone elses problem now. As someone who spent years in the plants as a launch manager, this continues to be a problem with less experienced engineers.

Here's an idea since you obviously don't work at a plant. Where was the VOME and IE making sure the station was set up correctly? Where was error proofing to determine if the bolts were loose or not? Were the assembly workers properly trained by their process coach? Did the operator have an issue and report it to the process coach? Did the process coach inform the superintendent of the issue? Did anyone tell the Quality Manager and Final Area Manager of the issue? Where were the rough road drivers, 4 poster operators and FCPA auditors who should have heard loose suspension joints? Just don't lay this at the feet of the engineer who did the design work.

@sse,

Where and who attaches the fasteners? If it is at the Ford plant forget about it, that is a lost cause.(UAW). Of course, the plant will blame the supplier fasteners as an ergonomic issue. Yeah, stock price and the next three months is all that matters. Ford is a company that tries to increase stock price quarterly and builds vehicles on the side. If they want to increase stock price, they need to do reduce UAW pay, High management pay. and sky high warranty spend. Good luck.

DFMEA/PFMEA? Are you joking?
DFMEA said fastener very important, high severity. PFMEA said fastener identified as important on DFMEA, need to insure it is present and fastened properly. Inverted delta on drawing says fastener critical to safety, must be installed to proper torque specification.
What more do you want? I am sure the management has a team working 24/7 to figure out how we can blame one of our suppliers for this issue. A good full service supplier would install their fastener for us.
Worry less about stock price, show more concern for our customers and doing the job right the first time.

Can you believe that you have lived to see Washington and Lincoln statues considered "offensive" in the United States of America?

Did you ever think that you would live to see Americans stand aside and allow it to happen?

The heirs to this amazing free republic are just letting it all fall down around them.

Do you people have any idea of the suffering that is headed our way? Any at all? Have you even for a second considered what follows all of this?

Do you understand that you will watch your loved ones suffer horribly, or that they will watch you suffer horribly?

Do you understand that this (collectivist) rot only gets faster as it goes? This rot will always be a step ahead of the masses. As has happened many times in history, they will not see it for what it is until they can do nothing at all about it.

You will wear a mask to avoid a bit of conflict with total strangers, but you will not act to save your loved ones from a living nightmare.

Are you all asleep? Are you all under some kind of spell? You don't act like the Americans I was raised by.

Have you ever thought about what is the opposite of freedom? Do you have any concept of what your life will be like without freedom? What the full force of a massive, malevolent government might feel like as it moves to utterly control you; to own you; to crush you?

With what do you replace a free republic?

How will your loved ones suffer as this republic falls to ruin? And it most certainly is falling.

We are our last hope. I've come to tell you that no one is coming, Americans. We stand to halt the ones working to destroy us, or we will be destroyed. It's that simple.

With everything in me, I hope that you all remember who you are, and that you rise and shine, Americans

“There are two fools in this world. One is the millionaire who thinks that by hoarding money he can somehow accumulate real power, and the other is the penniless reformer who thinks that if only he can take the money from one class and give it to another, all the world's ills will be cured.” — Henry Ford

You got that right. With this whole 100% permanent work from home on the horizon, I'm going to venture into buying another make. How will they ever know what I drive?

Just icing on the cupcake for another miserable launch. Ostrich management with their heads deep in the sand. We will be absorbed by another global car company before 2021 is done.

@OP,

Everyone is in meetings, looking at their phones, not even thinking of bolts. Way too much talking and less doing. DFMEA and PFMEA? LOL Are you kidding? All that matters is making a PowerPoint slide of the week, with pretty pictures for the upper management .

Ken Washington who easily makes 7 figures, maybe 8 called for justice today. Meanwhile our "North American" made Bronco Sport has the rear suspension missing bolts. At least most of the first Bronco Sports were given as management leases.

Absolutely too risky to spend your hard earned money on a Ford Product. Just sad, that vehicle after vehicle can’t get out of the gate without issues. This is now a systematic issue that highlights deeper issues within the company......
