Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Today's 2021 town hall kickoff creepy and unsettling

It was like being at a funeral facilitated by a used car salesman. Shapiro did nothing at all to try and hide what is in store this year. He might as well just said "consider yourselves laid off" You could tell he didn't care to be there, was going through the motions, and had no effort in trying to motivate as a corporate head should. He even implied what happens later it is on us how to handle and react using masked corporate jargon. It was almost like he was saying when there are layoffs how we react and take it is on ourselves. It was the weirdest most unsettling corporate address in my 16 years at Allstate.

Watch you P's & Q's. Shapiro adamantly did NOT want to give severance pkgs out in 2020 for impacted employees. Tom stood his ground because he KNEW what a backlash would come from employees and the public. NOW - he doesn't care. He and Shapiro have flat out ruined Allstate Insurance. My point, don't wait for a RIF to come. Start looking for a job now. I haven't had much luck, but Allstate isn't getting much out of me now anyway

Scare the bejesus out of Shapiro and the boys ....start unionizing activity now. —-before all the jobs leave anyway. We have nothing to loose. The media needs to know about the way this company is handling the pandemic in American. They are squatting on the workers but good. They really didn’t have to do it this way.

Corporate America has used the Covid Pandemic to alter age old company policy and business norms. They know they will have no one to answer to since it is a country wide initiative by many large companies. Running rampant while they can with no consequences. The pandemic has created a corporate free for all breaking the backs of labor. They know with such widespread unemployment and Job loss for almost a year now they have the upper hand to treat human beings like garbage. Lower wages, less benefits, altered or removed retirement packages, out of control workload and hours. We all take it in stride to stay employed. We all hate it, we need to vent and commiserate with our fellow co workers to hang on to our sanity. Mental and physical abuse, threats and the never ending waiting for the next layoffs or terminations. The American workforce will survive this time in history and I hope and pray we come back stronger and regain the upper hand against corporate abuse.
