Whoo. I am depressed reading these boards. I was picked to be laid off, but able to quit before it took effect. While no one wants to be laid off, I didnt want to be stuck with all that pending either. It seems like I was right. Folks are complaining of the case load. Then look, layoffs again. I need to be stable, glad I am done with the bs. My new company is different, but there arent layoffs and they dont even have occurences. Health care is free. While I took a slight pay cut, free health care makes up for everything else. I am less stressed and less worked. I feel sorry for those still going through it. If you can, get out now for your sanity. This new company is so refreshing, they actually want to pay claims and mad if you deny any. I love it! Wishing you all the best! Happy New Year!

Most of the people posting on this site are not employees of Allstate. Only big L comes back here after being laid off and working elsewhere.
Yeap. I had only been back with the company under 2 years. In a pandemic, you dont know when another job was going to come through. I had money saved. I would have been good for a year. I wasnt going to risk not finding another position soon enough for 2k. I ended up getting that anyway from my pension. So it worked out. Trust me, had I not found another position, they wasnt getting off the hook. I got a daughter, cant play like that. I was blessed to find this job. Never touched my savings and got paid from both at the same time, never missed a check. I cant function in that environment that was Allstate at the time.
