Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

What is going on in DXC U.K.

Staff seem to be leaving faster than any WFR program could get them out of the door. Are people finally sick of promises and seeing nothing come of it? Realised Sal is no different to Laurie? Upturn in the job market allowing people to move on? In delivery it seems that we are bleeding people that are needed and just can’t recruit, the clients can’t not be noticing this? How long has the company got before it’s either pieced out, sold or hits the wall and goes belly up? I’m close enough to retiring to welcoming going in the next inevitable round of WFR, but mind boggling to think what the company once was to what it’s become.

The account I've been working on has constantly haemorraged its best people. When even the contractors have been leaving, you know it's bad.

How much longer can it hang on. Mostly legacy contracts, with very few, new, large projects. The writing is on the wall, surely...

@1zns+19tRTS4f - depending upon your age, if close to retirement just do minimum work, don't ruffle feathers collect the monthly pay check and weight for retirement. If no where close to retirement look for alternative roles outside the company and if you land a good opportunity take it. 3rd option sit back - collect monthly wage, save much as possible and wait for WFR .

The VR amount is poor about £3,000 on top of Compulsory Rate you get - depending upon how many years at DXC (& prior) + T&C of your employment contract.

From what I can see at a level below L5-6, the pay just simply isn’t keeping up with reasonable expectations. I know of around a dozen good staff who have left for other companies simply because of pay, and a real lack of pay progression for several years worth of service. There is also a scary number of roles available and open for entry level staff, scary things coming in March with the change to contractors and the permanent WFH shift makes it tough for people to see visibility of different roles and progression chances. Basic stuff sadly. I don’t want to have to take a higher level role and potentially put myself at risk of redundancy for a 2-3k step pay increase?

The previous 3 wave WFR program in the UK&I was aimed at completion within 7 weeks, and whilst it did not run exactly to those timelines last time, the capability managers selected to deliver the reductions will be driven hard to ensure that this is actioned/completed before end of Q4.

If there is a WFR program being run within the UK&I currently then certain pools are likely to already exist and staff affected are already aware. Remember, the WFR’s are usually delivered in waves, and last time included the managerial stack as well. Expect managers will be placing team calls in the calendar of their respective teams for next week for waves 2/3.

Is it easier now to for them to WFR without it being in the news since we are almost all virtual/home workers now and the assignment to a Site/Cost Centre is almost meaningless now is it not?

WFR in the UK is happening NOW!

L5-L8 technical people placed into random pools of people from all over with all sorts of different skillsets - the only commonality is that they are L5-L8.

These guys and girls will all be gone by end of March to make the numbers look better.

I had started to believe the mess was over and things were getting better - I WANTED to believe they could be better, but they aren't - well certainly not in the UK.

Did ST stand up and tell UK&I that this was happening? Nope, for all of the openness and honesty that's meant to be the norm now, no, silent WFR is the way this rolls.

Deeply disappointed and frustrated.

I keep hearing about next round of WFRs for UK&I region but nothing happens. I go on these Town Halls hoping to hear some news but nothing, its all fake positive talk about transformation journey and looking after our people and dragging out talk about COVID to run down the clock on the call. Does anyone out there have any real knowledge of what the WFR plans actually are? I want out with a pay off but this hanging around hoping for it is taking its toll mentally but like OP im a few years from retirement so may have to see it out

Since inception DXC (and in later years CSC) has only been interested in offshoring most of the accounts to cheaper cost centre locations like India, no investment of training and wage increases for technical staff but endless rounds of WFR. However at same time they advertise roles recruiting new starters in with little experience over existing staff who are likely to be WFR in next round of layoffs but at same time increasing levels of bureaucracy and layers of Middle Yes Yes management to decrement of the overall efficiency running of the company and its clients it supports.

If I was the OP I would do as little as possible (not overworking ones self) and just wait for retirement, if your health is suffering and you're under real stress from fellow workers / management then seek the next WFR - it's not worth putting your health under danger for any company.

Would have wished that Mike No 2 Sal would put in procedures / changes into this company to turn it around but we are still waiting
