Here's the thing, people who'll be laid off have already been decided. Nothing will change that and a few extra days will mean very little to them (or us, I might be among them.) But any delay means that every single one of us has to go through days of extra stress and worry - something none of us can afford these days. Let us know and let us move on. Otherwise, they're just torturing us for no good reason.

Op is actually quite right in his analysis of the situation. No need to get extra stressed. Open that can of ice cold and sip quietly in front of a roaring fire.
OP was probably just busy rubbing sticks together and trying to stay warm when email arrived.
More than likely the OP saw the email and thought they would come on here and stir the pot but begging to be fired ASAP.
I do vote to have you fired ASAP and put you out of your misery.
Everyone else who is let go will thank god they got an extra week of pay out of the deal.

This is a strange post. Did you not see the email they sent us about 20 minutes before you posted this thread?
The email confirms that Layoffs will happen from February 22nd through 26th. The “Go Live” date is March 2nd for the new organizational structure.
