For those in the know, Saint John is pretty much New Brunswick's call centre hub. And we've had a lot of call centres come and go. Iron Mountain, Atelka, S&P Data, you name it. All of them are no longer here. Even Sitel, which was pretty much THE definitive example of the Saint John call centre experience for many years, decided to close its doors and adopt a work-from-home business. And this was even before the pandemic hit last year.
With Xerox being one of not very many call centres in the city that still expects their employees to come into the office (This applies to both the tech support centre at Place 400 and the Sales centre at Tech Drive), not offering competitive salaries compared to other centres in the city, and still primarily outsourcing from employment agencies to fill their workforce...how long do you think we have before we're gone for good? Do you suppose we'll make it through the entirety of the five-year lease?
