I have been offered employment with another company and have accepted. Starting date is in a little over 2 weeks. The professional in me wants to give notice and work my 2 weeks but the person in me wants to just walk away and take that time to recover from the stress I had to endure. Any suggestions on what avenue I should take?

The policy in our office was that if you were going to another insurance company, you were walked out immediately. Unless you want to go two weeks without a paycheck or benefits, give your notice the Friday before you start. If you can, call Sunday evening. Remember, this is THEIR policy.
Give your 2 weeks and cruise through your last two weeks going through the motions without a care in the world. Take all the time in the world on the phone with a customer without worrying about your voicemail/email piling up for other customers that usually cause you to cut them off quickly. Don't worry about your pending, it will still be there after you leave. Nod and smile at your manager like you care and you will get right on it. No one will bother to bug you since they know that you are on your way out, they don't expect you to do much of anything since you are now a short timer AND you will actually get paid for occupying a chair. Subconsciously, it's what every short time employee does on their way out whether they like the company or not. Their attention is elsewhere.
Congrats BTW and good luck!!
If you have unused PTO take it and give notice a few days before your return date, that's what I did when I left, or should I say booted out the door. I was on 60 day UN and decided to quit/retire before they officially terminated me. 24 year employee senior outside auto, glad to get out. The mental and physical torment was not worth it any longer. There is a better life after Allstate.
I believe there was a post here that they changed the process from acknowledging and paying for the two weeks to just cutting employment and processing termination effective immediately. Make sure you have your benefits lined up
This company shows no professionalism to their employees and customers so why consider showing them such professionalism? No notice! Determine how much PTO you earned up to this point versus any you have taken and take that much up to the start date of your new job. If you have to put in any days of work so you don't take anymore PTO than you earned (you don't want them to send you a bill for the unearned PTO you used) the treat each day as an 8 hour lunch. By the time they want to "coach you" for continuous improvement you'll be off enjoying your new gig. I wouldn't worry about burning your bridges coming back here. Only someone with mental illness would thrust themselves back to this company for a job after they left and there is a good chance that "Transformative Growth" will eliminate you job and department anyways and I'm sure you don't want to move to Pune to work in this company again.
You are only hurting yourself, if, god forbid, you'd ever need this company for a job again. I know it seems impossible, but you never know.
Here is what will happen:
Allstate won't know, or give a sh– that you walked without notice. A company this size, no one employee is that important. Sorry.
You'll have burned a bridge for no reason other than to pacify some of your pride.
Your call.
Take the high road, and do what's right. If we all dumb down our values to the level of the Allstate's of the world what a dreary world it will be. It won't matter a bit to Allstate what you do, they won't skip a beat. And revenge is a silly motive. Do what's right, whatever that means to you. Wishing you continued success in your new career!
I didn't give my professional two weeks and i have at every single job. they didnt deserve another ounce of me!!!!! i quit the day I knew i had another position and had 4 weeks to myself it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WORTH IT. You dont owe Allstate ANYTHING leave!
"RUN FORREST, RUN!"
If you are going to another carrier, they will let you go on day you give notice
Take the money and run. The folks that run this company do not care about anything. They will be gone soon too. Get in the right mental state for your new gig.
If you are going to work for a competitor, they may ask you to leave immediately so that you don’t sabotage the system or take more company secrets with you. However, since the company is such a mess right now they may make you stay and work those 2 weeks. You could always give notice and call in sick if they make you stay and you don’t want to.
Take PTO! Remember they didn't care about the employees they laid off and if they felt it was beneficial would lay me or you off at anytime
No one can give you advice on whether you value the extra paycheck or time off more. That’s a personal preference. But don’t burn any bridges because you never know who you may cross paths with later in your career
HR can only answer three questions from future employers : what was your salary , what was your Title and length of employment at your prior jobs .
