Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Power Out

My boss said they are taking away from my PTO due to I'm not able to get online with the power being out in Texas. And if I'm not able to remedy the situation by Friday they will look into termination.

I am not in Texas but another part of the country and when we had a storm hit and then lost power and internet we didn't get charged PTO, it sounds as if the managers in Texas need to be schooled, call the I-report line or the news outlets, someone will pick up that story.

Talk to HR/CERT. The coding is not PTO. It is Personal Time Paid if power/internet is out.

Why aren't you posting this on Facebook, LinkedIn ... Etc? Call the labor relations board on your state. You have protected pto.

I feel for the OP. All but three of our team members have had no power at all since start of business on Monday and one other gets it back off and on every so often but not enough to put in a workday. Our leader coded us all PTON so we all united and took the rest of the week off to get all the good from our occurrence. Screw them. No compassion or caring whatsoever. Where and I going to get or find a generator? Here let me look under the bed....id–t.

They must purposely get the most callous uncaring soulless beings to be leaders and supervisors in this company. They all seem so stone cold and heartless. It really is disturbing that this is an insurance company and the trash running it seem to be void of any feeling.

Of course you don't get paid if you aren't working, part of the PTO bank. You also have Protected PTO time effective this year which you can utilize. No one told you that you would be terminated for not being able to login because of the statewide blackouts in TX.

I fully understand what the person means - what I mean is that termination from this sh#t show of a company may not be such a bad thing...

I think the person means that Allstate is deducting the time he or she is unable to work because of no power from his or her PTO.

Could be the best thing that happens to you with this company...

I going to be honest. I think this story is a lie.

Are you telling me they won't let you use PTO? Something doesn't add up.
