We’re experiencing power outages and some of my co-workers are without heat or power because of bad weather in our area that we normally don’t experience. What is Allstate’s main concern? Who can work and who can’t and for those that can’t work and are without power while freezing in their homes, you’ll be subject to taking a PTO day on top of this. This company doesn’t care about the employee anymore, just the bottom line and it’s profit margins.

We’ve closed our office for bad weather in the past, tornados, bad hail and power outages and no was was told they need to take a PTO day. Worked with a Skelton crew and all was fine. Point is the company has lost all compassion for the employee and still expects 110% in return.
What would you do if you were working in the office? Would you go to work or take a PTO day and stay home? Isn’t it same difference?
If the power is out, your cell phone has a limited life. I would just “Disappear” for the next 24 hours. Let Pune handle it :).
You think Allstate will keep
Dropping claims on us or be kind and have mercy on our already backed up workload ?
I was about to post something about this myself. Our manager is actually asking us if we have generators to power up our internet boxes and work systems and if not are we able to get access to generators. Absolutely zero empathy from this company. Luckily I have touched very little of my "anything time" so I don't have to take PTO or an occurrence but the overall attitude and lack of caring from our manager and leaders for this situation is disgusting. Just a number as they say I guess....
