Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Bare minimum

I’ve decided I’m just going to do the bare minimum to skate by. This place isn’t worth the additional stress or work load that’s being thrown at us.

They don't pay a competitive wage or meaningful enough benefits (no I don't consider the amount of PTO enough of a pro) and the advancement opportunities are not nearly enough to work yourself to the point of over exertion and stress. One thing any reasonable employee learned from the 2020 lay offs is you as a person and your efforts are not appreciated or respected and mean literally nothing. If they did we would be paid more reasonable and in line with the industry and high performing loyal long tenured employees would not be the focus of their mass cuts. My advice is do only what you feel the pay and benefits are worth. Employment is a two way transaction. The company is paying you to do a fair and expected job for fair wages (which Allstate fails miserably at) but you are also selling yourself and your skills and talents for a reasonable fee. There must be a negotiated and fair value to both sides.

They are increasing the work load on us and everyone is stressed about it but as long as you keep up with the average you’ll be okay.
Know your production goals and thresholds.

It is easy to get burnt out.

Yep. Do just enough to keep your manager off your back. You don't want to be forced into Hell that is Continuous Improvement. If these brown nosers want to work themselves into a stressed frenzy then let them. They are wasting their time and it will do them no good as we are all going to get laid off sooner or later. If the chats are holding or claims backed up let Tom Wilson and Glenn Shapiro to it themselves. Me? I'm just going to kick back, keep getting a paycheck as long as they will issue me one and keep on praying for a severance package.
