Sending the WARN out the way they did was correct. But did they truly notify the individual that they were being laid off?
No they didn’t. As a matter of fact I would venture to say that they have cause mental anguish and untold suffering to hundreds if not thousands of their employees. I do believe that there is a possible legal recourse for the way this was all handled. Might take you 5 years to settle it. But if you feel wronged by what COP has done. Reach out to someone, you maybe entitled to some compensation.. you never know..

I’m gonna need at least 3 million for my pain and suffering. Wonder if they’ll settle.
The OP learnt a new word....WARN....and decided to try and use it in a sentence.
I would suggest you google what it means and come back here when you have something intelligent to say.
And by the way - "did they truly notify the individual that they were being laid off?" - that is what is happening this week and now next week as well.
I don't think the OP understands how layoffs work. Just assume you won't have a job next and get out of o&g. You need to have tough skin, you don't.
did you receive a call? then no, evidently not!
What could have been done differently other than starting layoffs the day the notification period expired (60 days??)? HR sent the notice. They are now supposedly starting notifications that will run thru Thursday. Then they'll send an all clear. Stressful? Yes. Impersonal? Yes. Worthy of legal action? Doubtful. But hey, you do you.
Have they notified all affected employees yet?
