Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Monday

Will be a battle between “leadership” wanting to get the layoffs over and done with (it’s not easy for them, of course it’s massively harder on us) and Facilities wanting to keep employees safely at home while Houston streets turn into a graveyard from the ice.

FYI the total number will be about double expected (look at the recent “synergies” cost savings provided) so it will take a week and it will be brutal.

Good bye Bartlesville. This week there will be an announcement that it is being closed down finally.

There is no battle. They were supposed to be done virtually and drying home is not going to change that.

'It will be brutal.' Welcome to oil and gas and what you in the office have too put us in the field through. We got laid off over a year ago.

Just do what Marathon did yesterday and tell everyone to stay home and do the layoffs remotely.

Another reason for more layoffs at the Alaska Business unit, they are used to ice and snow on the streets.

It’s all virtual anyway. No battle. No slow down. Just laying off workers all day, every day, all week.
