More layoffs today. Those who still have a jobs, please speak up to your managers and supervisors. Tell them this is not okay. This maybe how corporate America runs but it is not morally justified behavior to employees who stuck with the company through pandemic and buyouts. Change needs to happen. They are throwing humans out like trash. You may be next.

I'm a manager and I can tell you that I'm just as much in the dark as the staff about how this stuff gets decided.
The only way something may happen to this company is to start notifying CMS regarding the way they manage and incur waste to federal medicaid dollars, I have no clue how this company maintains NCQA accreditation unless they just pay them off..Centene needs to be exposed for the S* show it is..

This is the reason ppl decide to start unions !!! We all need to get together !!! There is power in numbers !!! If the Centene employees would start a union no one will dare to come for us !!! We can change things for the up and coming employees of this organization!!! We need to make a difference!!!

Saying things are just the way they are isn't okay. If there is a problem with the system speak up. If we collectively come together and speak up then things will have to change. If we choose to think that we do not have power then those who are at the top will continue to behave in whatever way they choose to without repercussions. Laying off people for monetary gain when the wealthy already have so much is wrong. These are individuals who worked tirelessly to be treated like trash isn't ever going to be okay.
They owe you nothing and this is coming from someone who was let go in 2020. You should always be prepared for your next move. This is just how things work.
If they laid off anyone today with one being a Friday and two being chinese new year is one of the biggest and worst HR decisions in the world. No reputable HR department would ever do that.
Yes, I have seen HR firms lay folks off on holidays or special days (valentines day).

Centene / Wellcare are one of the worst companies to make business at any level, do not take my word for, do your diligence before you decide to be involve with them, just check the reviews by members; barely they get 2 starts with difficulties. Working as a insurance broker, they are zero observing compliance and payments, if you get pay commission for your services, considered it pure luck, their billing, payments systems and customer service to brokers is almost inexistent, they do not care, they feel they are above the law. This company is bad news for everyone, is just taking advantage of federal programs, members, brokers, vendors, employees to fill the pockets of few executives with high salaries & bonus and of course the CEO, shareholders no sure, because with their business practices, I do not see but speculative share prices in the future and even lose all the money at one time eventually. Just run in the opposite direction, try not be involve with this company with very questionable reputation, just do your own research!

decisions of layoff come from CEO's one and only objective, to keep shareholders happy by increasing stock value. Who gets laid off is a personal decision and sometimes popularity decision of your manager/director/VP
