Being laid off from this place can be considered a favor. Most of my former coworkers are at better jobs by now and much happier than they were here. While it might be stressful at first, in the long run it's going to get you away from a toxic environment and an insecure job into a much better position. I'm actually hoping to be cut. It can't get much worse than here, after all.

When layoffs are coming, and an employee is competing with their manager for the same job, the employee doesn’t have a chance when that same manager is the person who’s assigning the employee their work and also doing their performance reviews. The employee is set up to fail in that situation.
Sorry chief. That’s the name of the game at Pearson.
There is ZERO loyalty at this company. And when loyalty leaves it’s every man for himself. If I could double dip paychecks for as long as possible, I would do it 100% without regret.
You’re fooling yourself if you think for one second that this company cares about you.
Wow....You are in change of your own destiny. If you do not like your job, then LEAVE it. Do not go looking to get laid off to enhance your career. Sounds like a bunch of children.
@8kcr+19mVySEj Right on!
What's the opportunity cost for Pearson to invest in contact lists for clients/courses and let us run with accurate info? Data is the new oil, as they say so let's get some good data in there and have 90% customer engagement!!
although that'll eat into my Sales Podcast time while I'm updating SF, need those updated skills for the next layoff and my reapplying to the same job I have now..
100% truth.
Went to a HIGHLY successful company. Everyone is making a k–ling.
We don’t talk about tracking. We talk about selling.
When your managers spend 90% of the time talking about updating your database rather than customer engagement, there is a problem.
Just my $.02
Reminder.
In the language of Pearson's severance agreements, they state that your severance ends if and when you find a new position. NEVER update your LinkedIn or tell anyone at Pearson about a new role until your severance period has ended.
It will honestly be the BEST thong yo happen to you. I promise.
Have 3 months of expenses saved up and you will be just fine. The business is a race to the bottom. Why would anyone want to do that?
I hope to get cut too! Please put me out of my misery...
