CM Team Huddle Zoom Meeting Tomorrow, Thursday February 11th @ 8:30am (May Or May Not Be Related to Layoffs)

Wendy Faust Regional Vice President Medical Management at 4:16pm today emailed us a CM Team Huddle zoom meeting tomorrow at 8:30am and put in red bold "Please attend if at all possible. Thank you!"

It is rare a huddle is ever done for CM especially that early in the morning.

Then before I left at 5 from the office I got an email from my supervisor that it is a mandatory meeting and those employees who come in later then that time will have it scheduled in the afternoon.

I am worried those in case management like myself may be doomed.

Anyone can give me an insight on what I might expect tomorrow morning? Any insight would be appreciated.

My co-worker had the invite to the huddle yesterday, for the 7:30 am call this morning, and still lost her position this afternoon

I attended the meeting. They basically said if you are in this department and you have not been contacted by HR on Wednesday your job is safe, but only our department.

Some will find out Thursday and Friday. With Covid, wfh, and vacation days, there’s no guarantee that all 3000 were getting notified on Wednesday. There are conversations still happening and will continue through COB Friday. COB may be dictated by where you or your leader work, so don’t assume if you make it past 5pm eastern you won’t get a call from St Louis afterward.

What state are you in?

I work in Michigan for Care Coordination (aka Service Coordinator) for Illinois Medicaid and originally Meridian. We were bought by Wellcare, then by Centene. We hear that Centene wants to get rid of us in Michigan, to hire folks in Illinois instead.

But for now, we are “safe”.
I’m thinking, until they’ve hired those needed in Illinois.

Even if you are ‘Safe’ this week, take this as a red flag...

Membership. These people are all clowns. Acting like they feel bad when they’ve volunteered you well in advance. Fake crocodile tears isn’t flying. We see you!!

When I was laid off a few months back, my manager had scheduled a touch base. When I joined the call, her boss was on video along with our HR partner - I knew when I saw their two faces on video what was happening. I stayed quiet, knew that my manager was likely put in the middle with this surprise call they had to plan. I didn’t fight it because I knew the 2 of them have talking points prepared, canned replies of “happy to give you a reference” and their pathetic attempts of acting like they gave a damn. I instantly lost all respect for this “leader” and his useless sidekick from HR.

Sounds about right, my mgr invited me to a Zoom yesterday mid-afternoon, for 8:30am this morning simply titled 'Communication'. Thought this was odd because of the time of day, but when I got on the meeting & saw supervisor and their boss, I immediately knew this wasn't going to be good & found out about my layoff as well as the 3,000 person layoff.

I am also a Centene employee wondering if my job is on the chopping block. I don't like the way this is being handled either. I can concur with previous statement, I have been told by my management that we would have heard by now if we are part of the layoff...however..he also stated if we make it past Friday we will be okay..not warm and fuzzy.

I agree. I received my email for a meeting at 8:30 this morning. I was also told that there are 3 rounds, and they will go through the end of the week. However, my meeting was separate from my manager and other teammate. Yet, we were all let go. I have spoken to others that are still there, they were called into a huddle to discuss questions and concerns. Also, to let them know they were safe.

Either way. Good luck.

I got an invite for 5pm on Friday. I wonder if this could be related?

I got this invite as well and I don't even clock in until 9. I'm low key freaking out. I wish they did this under the radar instead of finding out through the media. It's cruel to make us all anxious and paranoid like this.

That’s not true. People are finding out tomorrow as well.

It seems those who have been part of this round of layoffs have already been told. This meeting is likely to inform the teams who has been let go, answer questions, etc.
