Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Back to office

For those of us still here... does anyone have any further information regarding a full return to office, hybrid or offering full work from home?
I personally don’t see a need to be physically in the office when we have been remote for almost a year now.

And if you are a hybrid employee you need to haul equipment back and forth. No thanks.

We go to get our things this week. To make us go back would be ridiculous

My claims area and the notice if first loss area both in Hudson are expected to remain remote for their duration due to those roles being transitioned to India by end of 2021.

Your leadership has already submitted their opinion on whether your team will return or remain remote.

Like the other poster said, most teams will be hybrid because you’ll be expected in the office at least occasionally for meetings.

By end of April, you’ll know whether you’re in the office, full remote, or hybrid. HO and Charlotte positions will not return until July 6 at the earliest. Most positions will be hybrid but the definition is determined by each department. Some may be 2-3x week in office while other areas are 2-3x month.

Well I’d like to thank you for sharing that information poster below me. I am on the front lines and my manager tries to share things as they find out but I am not even sure they know for sure if our department will go back.

Your information has helped. Unfortunately if I am to go back I may have to look elsewhere for a new career. Time will tell.

You will need to speak to your area leaders for specifics of specific departments. I am not at liberty to speak for specific departments or the site management since processes and decisions about how and when to return to the office. Some areas plan to remain primarily remote while others have seen enough of a drop in performance and production that they are leaning to a full return to the Hudson site when they can. The site is currently being prepared and updated for distanced and controlled usage for whenever and whomever return to the office. But so far the before mentioned processes and procedures for in office will prove to be much different in terms of accesses, employee planning and time management, and daily experience. Another example is the campus being 100% non-smoking and everytime one exits and enters they will need to do the temp and health checks and entry paperwork. The in office experience will be a completely different animal than was before.

As the OP I am specifically curious about the Hudson location in fact.

There really is no need for people to be back in the corporate environment.
I understand that some struggle with the work from home situation though and am all for sending them back.

But explain the benefit of increasing operating costs and making everyone come back? If that is the case I’ll look elsewhere for employment.

I also work in the hudson office. Do you know if ASIC or RMBC will return to the office?

I can't speak for all sites but there have been a small handful of folks back working in the Hudson offices for some time now after struggling with internet or atmosphere working from home. Some departments are planning to return to the office in some capacities in 2nd quarter.

However the daily processes being put into place for in office is going to be rough. Daily temp checks, daily paperwork for entry, assigned bathroom times, one directional hallways, no personal ites at desks, no food or drink at desks, no community microwaves or coffee makers, daily required self deep cleaning of your work area after clocking out. It is estimated that you will need to arrive at least 30 minutes before your log in time and will be stuck there for at least 30 minutes after logging out for your daily deep clean. I feel terrible for anyone that will be forced back into the office.
