A person from my Wellcare team was laid off today and they had to stop working immediately.
was told all departments had to cut certain number of people, legacy Centene and WellCare and all markets, etc....system wide cuts
Hearing that people were given until March 4th as their last day.
Give me my severance and call it a day.
I was all meet and a few exceeds. Just got the can notice. PA health and wellness
Which departments at WellCare were on the chopping board?
I wasn’t part of the legacy, I didn’t make it to my year, and my goals were all met on my review. I guess I just wasn’t part of the click.
"A couple of them were "partially meets" on the 2020 review." Yeah, my bet is that the larger portion of people let go were like this. Centene "trims the fat" annually. My advice to current employees–take your goals / annual review seriously. If you get a "needs improvement" or "partially meets expectations" on your review, start looking because you're effectively on the chopping block.
I heard of at least 3 more people let go today - sounds like most will happen today and tomorrow and all the ones I know of are legacy WellCare people. A couple of them were "partially meets" on the 2020 review.
8 weeks severance.
what were the terms when you were laid off - severance? how long was your severance?
Yep, just laid off. Rumors were diffidently true.
Announcing layoffs during earnings call should keep stock price up until investors realize the bigger picture. Best wishes to those looking for work in a tough market.
