Noticed some of the jobs posted this fall were taken down and are now being re-posted. Just applied for a position posted 2 weeks ago and was told by a recruiter the position is going to be taken down as its on hold. Is Optum hiring external candidates at this time or is there a job freeze? Why do they post jobs externally if they have a hiring freeze?

The corporations gets to retain the employees' well earned bonus because the company termed them at a particular time (likely to NOT pay off their well earned/deserved bonus to keep more profit). What a dumpster fire. Seriously–how can ANYONE with a working brainstem still live there? Brain damage and/or brainwashing. You got very few employee rights –they are STEALING your money yet the plebs are too busy dancing, watching millionaires throw balls, and drive pick em trucks, or fantasize about bacon chicken sandwiches. Time to bail.
WOW....no bonus distribution?! Where's the laws to protect US employees? Are they non/un existent?! Too much corporate lobbying and leaving hard working employee high and dry. This is american disgusting.
No bonus payout if you are let go in Nov or Dec. You have to be employed at the time of bonus distribution.
If you get terminated -laid off, whatever term HR uses, in nov/dec, and you qualify for the bonus, do you still get your bonus even though that bonus is for the following yr? thanks!
Yes you can be rehired if you were layoff with decent to good Map ratings and no major violations. If you had a violation / termination or more than one low map rating your chances of getting hired are pretty much zero.
I don’t agree that you can’t be rehired after a layoff.

I agree as someone who has been let go. I get many recruiters asking to be able to post my qualifications. However, I never hear back. We are black balled this does exist and we cannot work here ever again. Once you are let go you are out for life. Jobs at hat you once qualified for are no longer yours based on qualifications.
Black Balling is a real thing here at UHG. I hope they find enough of us who aren’t black blalled to help run this company. Or maybe not let’s let it fail and see what happens without all of us with the proper skills and expertise.

Its a job freeze in some areas but not all. Some positions are being pulled as part of a cost cutting measure. They will have to go through the req approval process again to make the case it is a very needed hire. Higher Management sends down directives on a whim and timing plays a big part. It is a constant battle for dept heads. Also with impending layoffs some positions will be pulled if they are directed to look at the redeployment list first to see if they can fill it that way.
It may be a late breaking change. The hiring manager may not even be aware (I speak from experience with this). What was the position or what area was it in?
