Lots of talk amongst SMT about company possibly getting bought out. What will that mean or look like? Who would wanna buy a company so deep in debt?

The real tragedy here is that the US consumer, and employees, will get screwed in the end, as always. Our government was supposed to allow free markets in our industries by keeping competition plentiful and healthy, and prevent any industry having only only a couple businesses controlling the entire market. Well, now RAC is almost there, after our government (FTC) approved only 3 businesses to control the entire industry. When Hertz is gone, we’re at 2. And once Enterprise is down to one competitor, they’ll will eat Avis for lunch. Just look at Tech, they have a monopoly and control the whole industry plus much, much more. Where’s the anti trust laws to protect the citizens? Gone, lobbyists bought out our politicians. So CEOs get richer, employees get poorer, or fired, and consumers pay higher rates. What a scam.
SMT is swept up and starting to believe their own lies if they think someone is going to but the pile of c-ap they created
The Hertz Local offices have no value. Avis knows Enterprise is too big of a beast to take on in the off airport market. Hertz threw all kinds of money in the industry and they could not take on Enterprise. Hertz lost Statefarm and Farmers accounts which leaves them nothing! Avis will not spend the money to simply acquire locations with no business. Sixt does not need Hertz. The got their 10 key airport locations when they took over the Advantage sites. Paul must be spreading these rumors to try to show there is still value in the brand. There will be no suitors to take on Hertz. Its over.
What’s HLE?
I think hertz will be bought off in pieces. I heard avis wants to get into hle business so may buy that aspect
Enterprise does not need to buy Hertz to shut down HLE. First thing is that they already dominate the market HLE is no threat to them. They are making money hand over hand right now. Second HLE will sht down on its own evenutally, no need to throw cash to make it happen
Enterprise could buy it just to shut down HLE
NO Chance!
