Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

Pandemic as an excuse for everything

Does anyone else believe the layoffs are the result of a pandemic circumstance?
It’s such a lame excuse, just as this company is lame. If the pandemic hadn’t happened, everything would be the same as it is now, I’m sure of it. I am surprised that the situation is not even worse!
I’m trying my best to get out of here and I’m sorry for all the years I’ve spent here.

They have been laying off every year since the Q/USW merger but I think in 2020 they decided to do lots of smaller layoffs instead.

Volunteered in June after 41 years. Only job I ever had left at 59 yrs old. Best decision I ever made concerning the phone company. Invested all of my retirement and things are good. Own 2 small businesses. There is life after CTL. I held several OSP jobs but the best one was cable repair. If a person is able to leave, get out from the stress.

I really hope there is an afterlife so the hypocrites JS and GP get their karma.

JS sold out his loyalty as well as his employees and their families! That’s just a fact! Their intentions on rebranding have been in the works for months possibly years.. Growth by acquisition, take the pieces you want, rebrand and reposition the company and then get rid of the people. Text book greed and zero class! Must be nice to be an overpaid executive working for this company!
