Magellan acquisition will leave little to no Magellan resources. Centene leadership is already solidified with leadership and individual contributor roles from Health Net, Fidelis and Wellcare acquisitions. Magellan was acquired for customers and Behavioral Health Business, all others will be released.

Magellan Specialty and MagellanRx will more than likely get absorbed into Centene, however, Magellan BH Will need to remain its own and completely separate from Centene. Magellan handles behavioral health claims for some of Centene’s competitors therefore, cannot mix company resources. This arrangement is going to be very similar to the United/UBH set up.
Its not what you know, its who you know and how far your willing to go to kiss their asses. I'd rather be let go than kiss their dumb–ses.
If you're with Magellan, you're staring down the barrel of a 14" cannon starting on the day of the closing. Use the time now to update your LinkedIn profile, update your resume, and plan out your job search because that is the most likely scenario for you. If you're retained, you're lucky for the time being. But if you liked Magellan, you won't like Centene. And if you didn't like Magellan, you still won't like Centene.
Disagree with that comment. They axed a ton of solid well reviewed performers from WellCare. Some were not even duplicates, they just wanted to eliminate and WC culture and leadership.
People said the same thing about Fidelis. And WellCare. And HealthNet. And yet there are many veterans still on the payroll.
My advice to staff is that if you're talented, and you like your job, stick it out. Centene does really well by it's top performers. I have seen just as many advancements and promotions as I have terminations as Centene has grown.
The cream will rise to the top. Being acquired could just as easily be the best thing to happen to your career as the worst thing.
